BOGODA BRIDGE

This is an ancient wooden bridge which was built by a Sri Lankan king  called  king Walangamba which has a history of over 2000 years adjacent to the bridge is an old cave Temple which has old murals drawn on the rock surface and statues of Lord Buddha.

Demodara station called  as the famous Demodara loop only  place in SRI LANKA  where you can see the the same train from two different angles from a vantage  point in  front  the station for eg the train arriving from colombo  arrives at Demodara station and once it leaves the station if you have a quick dash outside the station  you can see the      same train approaching towards you in the opposite direction  incidentally the train comes below you  from behind a hill its quite spectacular, one of the marvels of railway  engineering . The British  engineers were at the crossroads as to how to overcome  this puzzle since there were two mountains on the path of the railway tract  ultimately it was a local engineer who overcame this  issue by suggesting  that the  railway  should take a circular route [he gained his idea by observing a local tying his turban  which is similar to a loop].

Experiencing the traditional way Sri Lankan's live in a typical village tour comprising an old fashion mode of transport in a bullock cart which is now quite obsolete with the advent of modern transport, a ride in a wooden canoe with two villages steering the wooden craft through water lilies in a natural lake. Sri Lankas Dry zone is littered with small lakes called tanks which are used by villages for irrigation mostly paddy fields and traditional home grown village plots of vegetables. finally partaking in the preparation of a flat bread prepared of millet flour meal in a a homemade clay hearth. Peeling of the rice husk, coir making, weaving of coconut leaves for thatched roofs of the villages are some of the highlights of this activity. JETWING YALA (boarderin the yala park)

The huge sand dunes separating the Indian ocean  from the hotel and the endless calm Waters of the Indian ocean on one side and on the other the dense Forest of Yala  gives this particular  hotel a sense of tranquility wild boars which roam in the hotel grounds in numbers are a common sight at dusk it's not advisable to venture out after dusk due to wild elephants which roam about , the park itself is a wild enthuses dream  elephants,  leopards, Crocs,sloth bears jackals  Forest and water birds are  some of the wildlife found here but a see always you need plenty of luck and lots of patience to spot wildlife.
