DEMODARA STATION

Demodara station called  as the famous Demodara loop only  place in SRI LANKA  where you can see the the same train from two different angles from a vantage  point in  front  the station for eg the train arriving from colombo  arrives at Demodara station and once it leaves the station if you have a quick dash outside the station  you can see the      same train approaching towards you in the opposite direction  incidentally the train comes below you  from behind a hill its quite spectacular, one of the marvels of railway  engineering . The British  engineers were at the crossroads as to how to overcome  this puzzle since there were two mountains on the path of the railway tract  ultimately it was a local engineer who overcame this  issue by suggesting  that the  railway  should take a circular route [he gained his idea by observing a local tying his turban  which is similar to a loop].
