Most blogs  and writers are foreign visitors quoting personal experiences in a particular country and SRI LANKA is no exception. Their input is LIMITED TO ONE OR TWO WEEKS ,  Being a native plus a professional guide for 23 years it just crossed my mind to relate my travel experience with foreign visitors since I practically travel every week to every part of SRI LANKA  on hindsight 90% of my client's are European Australians and a few Americans fall into this category  ( The Trip Advisor is one forum which bear's testimony to this fact ). Most Travel agent's (Foreign and Local) basically stick to the same route and program. SRI LANKA is a hidden gem and there are so many unexplored place's still to be visited but not on the travel books or forum's, and as I mentioned before I would be more than glad

DEMODARA STATION

Demodara station called  as the famous Demodara loop only  place in SRI LANKA  where you can see the the same train from two different angles from a vantage  point in  front  the station for eg the train arriving from colombo  arrives at Demodara station and once it leaves the station if you have a quick dash outside the station  you can see the      same train approaching towards you in the opposite direction  incidentally the train comes below you  from behind a hill its quite spectacular, one of the marvels of railway  engineering . FOOT MASSAGE (in the lagoon)

A great way to have a foot massage by hundreds of fish , incidentally they are called Mozambique talapia they are pinkish in color  and they are reared in fish pens in this lagoons at Balapitiya the moment you insert your feet into the water they come swirling around you nibbling around your feet and ankles pealing away the dry skin  it gives you a tickling feeling but also a sense of relaxation.
