SIGIRYA - Rock Fortress

Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka and referred by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World. This ancient palace has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka.
The palace is located in the heart of the island between the towns of Dambulla and Habarane on a massive rocky plateau 370 meters above the sea level

Demodara station called  as the famous Demodara loop only  place in SRI LANKA  where you can see the the same train from two different angles from a vantage  point in  front  the station for eg the train arriving from colombo  arrives at Demodara station and once it leaves the station if you have a quick dash outside the station  you can see the      same train approaching towards you in the opposite direction  incidentally the train comes below you  from behind a hill its quite spectacular, one of the marvels of railway  engineering .
